I do think there were a few moments that could have been handled better.... In that it didn't make for good 'TV,' to use an old saying. But overall I think it was a good back-and-forth between the two.
I think that Sen. Cruz has many of his views formed by the information that is fed to Congress by the “intelligence community “. His views seem to reflect the long standing narrative that we have all been fed. For example in Iraq it was WMD’s! WMD’s!!!! A crafty way to influence Congress if you can filter the information and give them the narrative that you want. A big clue to this was Cruz’s cynical remark “Oh! 9/11 was and inside job? Come on!!!!”
That’s a NoNo for a journalst. He asks questions and the guest will give answers. Cruz couldn’t finish one sentence.
The interview is for the public not for Tucker’s ego, he suppose to do a public service. I am for Cruz here, he had no chance to explain his position, Tucker was smug and impertinent at times, regardless that a senator was in front of him, obviously he has no respect for him.
Cruz was very patient and right, we do not go to assassinate leaders because they hate us, not based on suppositions anyway, it is not the purpose of the war with Iran. When cornered, Tucker changes the subject on a positive pro american ideea, forcing the other to cut his explanation and answer. He calls Cruz names but doesn’t like when Cruz explains Tucker’s position giving it a name.
Tucker has guts or a strong back to lien on, but as a journalist he was a disaster, talks too much, stops the guest to explain and finish his ideas, and changes the subject when has no answer. I can understand why people like him but as a journalist he was not good at all, at least in this case. I saw him with Catherine Austin Fitts, quiet as a mouse, he was clueless there!
He has been successful because he is asking direct questions but showing that he knows more about the subject than the other, is terrible for a journalist. They often do know more, that’s their job, to know everything! This suppose to be an interview that gives people an idea of the government’s position at this moment but the result is that we have no idea, the interview was a verbal match between two men and none of them won. Youpeedoo!
I understand why they pushed him out. When he asked Cruz why we do not kill Khomeini, I froze! Is he crazy or what? That’s not a statement to be published as an american point of view! Next day some crazy muslim can shoot the president! It is dangerous and reckless. War is not a game, we are not criminals. Cruz was embarrassed by it and tried to explain that no one wants to kill him, it is not a priority now. Trump who is the target for the arabs, does not want to kill him either but Tucker wants! Who is Tucker? See my point?
It is a show for him, ads for himself, makes money. Politics of war are not easy nor for anyone with a microphone. Trump is in a difficult position right now, he wants to help Israel but not to get involved in the war. Whatever he decides, he loses because we do not want another endless war and our boys to die, and if he does not help, Israel may disappear - that is also bad. How to help them without getting involved?
And here comes Tucker with his brilliant idea, to kill Khomeini! Like that would be hunting ducks on his grandpa’s pond!
Post Fox he’s never been better…. Being pushed away from his top-rated show couldn’t have been easy but he’s settled in to a great place where he has a big platform. I’m hopeful for more of these interviews - even if they get bumpy here and there. 😃
Good points. But I will note that Tucker is not a ‘reporter.’ He is more in the mold of a political / media commentator. His political views are well-known and a key part of his entire platform. I think everyone knows his political beliefs, philosophy, etc., so it’s always going to be layered into any interview he takes part in.
Yeah, I got that. Reporter is too small for him. There is no name for what he does, not journalist either. Just a guy with a microphone that asks questions more to show who he is not what the guest thinks. I suppose he belongs to Fox, thus Murdoch. No wander then, his attitude is adequate for the people he serves. Not even as a political comentator his opinions are to be known, he comments but does not give his opinion to influence the viewer, that’s advertising - and is not for a cause, it’s for himself!
I went back and listened again. There were definitely some herky jerky moments, but overall I think it was a well-balanced chat. We need more conversations like these that’s for sure. I applaud Cruz for being part of it, and of course I love that TC seeks out these types of conversations with a variety of smart, influential people in media, politics, etc.
Yes, the intention was good but I would have liked to hear Cruz ending a sentence and explaining his/Trump’s position in some situations. It is blurry, the tone and the interruptions killed the essence and that is not a good interview. I will look at more of Tucker’s interviews, this is only my second.
Another No-no is that the reporter MUST be apolitical, his political preference should not be known nor expressed.
Another law that he is not aware of. I suppose he hasn’t been to school for what he is doing.
I wonder……🤔 So many countries in the Middle East hate the US. The US presence and military actions in the Middle East have been constant since the first Gulf War. Twin towers-inside job with very strong ties to Israel influence (my belief), luring the US into these constant wars, always with Israel’s enemies. Perhaps if we weren’t so buddy buddy with Israel, who just seems to be bombing the H*** out of everyone, these countries wouldn’t have such a hatred for us. My take is that we are being manipulated and sucked into this conflict, and that makes me feel very resentful towards Yahoo . It’s a more complicated issue than that alone, but how does this serve our interests? Not to mention, that both Russia and China will likely come to back Israel. Don’t want to go there.
Lot of details about the zionists (Iraninans are calling Israelis like that in all recent news) in this discussion! The heat is good, more truth please Senator.. And Tucker : Thank You!
WHY Iran is NOT 'allowed' to have nuclear weapons and why Israel, which is decimating Gaza, can??? What is the reason??? Nobody gives a clear answer here...
Would there be a war if Israel wouldn't have started it in the first place??
Last, but not least, ANYONE calling himself a Christian and talking/planning/agreeing to KILL others is a LIAR, a big one. And a CRIMINAL too.
Just a reminder, 5 years went by, where Iran did NOTHING for killing their general, and now suddenly they all are SO EAGER TO kill everyone here??? BBB, meaning: big bunch of balloones. Deep state has an IRAQ2.0=Iran plan, wants more deaths, more weapons, LESS HUMANITY!!!
TODAY, 6/19/25 Trump sentenced MILLIONS of Americans to DEATH, with this 'dec-I-sion':
Tucker has become a Joke, I wonder do you remember when Tucker had an interview with , and Putin said to Tucker that he remembered him when Tucker was trying to get into the CIA, hum ! Maybe that is why Tucker is acting so strange lately
I was disappointed in Tucker’s treatment of a United States Senator. He was confrontational and disrespectful in my opinion.
I do think there were a few moments that could have been handled better.... In that it didn't make for good 'TV,' to use an old saying. But overall I think it was a good back-and-forth between the two.

The swamp is deep! God help us all!
Well said. The swamp is deep, dark and dangerous. ❗️
Tucker spoke more than Cruz! Who was interviewed?
That’s a NoNo for a journalst. He asks questions and the guest will give answers. Cruz couldn’t finish one sentence.

"I don’t distrust academia—I disregard it.
After all, my theory is as good as theirs any time.
My basic theory of government is to balance the collective greed of the elected by their lust for power.
After all, a small government is just a small devil.
I am skeptical of anything that cannot be explained in simple English.
The human psyche is better captured by poetry and aphorism than by thick volumes of psychology.
History, it seems, is the most malleable of sciences.
I ascertain historical narrative by applying hard human nature to soft historic fact.
Religion is the confounding factor.
I know many deeply religious people—myself being one—but no religious institutions.
I suppose it is in the nature of collectives to be godless.
On the macro level, the rule of the jungle reigns supreme.
I am wary of the powerful, the winners.
It’s not only the history books they write—it’s the science and literature books as well."
